KATE'S BIO

ABOUT KATE

Kate Wilson Somers brings toolbox of skills to her all her clients and projects from graphic design to web development, media production to professional writing, and using creativity, education, and ingenuity throughout.


She first started in the marine industry working for Oracle Team USA part of the winning 34th America’s Cup campaign. Since then, she has worked with two Volvo Ocean Races – Team Alvimedica as a Marketing Coordinator and Vestas 11th Hour Racing as the Press Officer. In between, she manages a wealth of clients with ranging needs from websites, to online education programs, marketing collateral, event production, and social media management.


A passionate sailor and educator, Kate has coached the local high school teams for years and designed a summer program that focused on both sailing and environmental education for elementary and middle school students earning her RIMTA’s Boater of the Year 2016.


She has an undergraduate degree in architecture and mathematics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Master’s degree in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University. When not helping companies, she can be found with her husband, son, and their dog, Scruffy cruising onboard their C&C 34 in the New England waters.
